VIDEO: Meet Wendy Sweet from MyMT & discover why menopause is the time for lifestyle change, not endless supplements and medications.

Most women joining me on the MyMT programmes are as frustrated as I felt too – sick of spending huge amounts of money on various supplements, hormone creams, weight loss diets, Dr’s visits, blood tests, Personal Trainers, HRT, other Health Specialists and whatever else we can think of. All because menopause symptoms are ruining how we are feeling and coping with day-to-day life. We just keep trying to grab what remedies we can. Some work, some don’t. I don’t know about you, but I was driven to despair. Lack of sleep, endless hot flushes, increased anxiety, sore joints and muscles, mood swings and for me, unstoppable belly fat, not only left me feeling exhausted, but also worried about my future health. It wasn’t looking good for the years I still had to enjoy ahead of me.

One day, after purchasing yet another supplement from a young sales-woman, who had no idea what I was going through, and knowing that my blood pressure and cholesterol was climbing despite being on HRT, I knew I had to use my physiology and healthy ageing knowledge and my experience, not only as a former nurse, but also as a leading exercise specialist in New Zealand, to figure out how to turn around my symptoms and my health during my menopause transition.

I didn’t want 6-pack abs that the gyms were offering. Nor did I want a dietary approach that was restrictive and not evidenced. I wanted, [and needed], a health transformation – and I knew, that in order to do this, I had to follow the women’s healthy ageing research. So I turned my back on sports and exercise approaches and difficult diets such as Paleo and Keto, that haven’t been researched for our health in menopause. I didn’t have time to spend hours at the gym and my joints and muscles couldn’t handle the post-workout exhaustion and pain of high-intensity exercise that was mostly on offer – I wanted to feel energised not exhausted, fabulous not fraught. Afterall, wasn’t this the promise of our ‘fab-50’s’?

I wanted a transformation that left me feeling healthy, energetic, vibrant and well … ageless. I also wanted to sleep all night. For without sleep, we don’t function. And with all I still have to do in my life, I needed to function well. That meant no more foggy brain, no more sore joints, no more crazy mood-swings and no more weight gain. In fact, I needed to lose at least 15kg of fat that menopause had dumped on my body.

“All I wanted was a Menopause Transformation and because nobody had the integrated solution for sleep, nutrition, health and exercise – I designed it for all of us – there are no crazy diets or exercise regimes, but there is a step-by-step self-learning programme that gets you understanding what you need to do to reduce your symptoms of menopause, turn around weight if you need to, and feel back in control of your health, as I do now too.”

“Hi Ladies – my name is Wendy Sweet and I welcome you to My Menopause Transformation™.

I never thought I would be setting up my two 12 week online programmes for women going through menopause, but with my own weight struggles and then listening to women during my Doctoral Studies on women’s healthy ageing, this led me to develop and deliver these fantastic on-line health improvement programmes for you.

For over 30 years I have been involved in New Zealand’s health and exercise industry. Although my original career was as an ICU nurse and I’m not practicing any more, I re-trained and pioneered the Personal Training industry in New Zealand.

Once I left this industry, I returned to education and not only was I lecturing in sport, exercise, nutrition and health physiology, but I was so interested in how to help people change their lifestyle behavior, that I undertook my master’s studies in this area. Then I went on to do my doctoral studies in the Faculty of Health, Sports and Human Performance at Waikato University. My desire was to better understand how women perceived their ageing and the role of exercise in this during the menopause transition. I am so pleased that I did! Because what I discovered was that our menopause transition, when we go into the final hormonal changes that herald in the end of our biological reproductive years, is the time to change our lifestyle in readiness for the next 20-30 years of living we still have to enjoy.

In a different hormonal environment, what we have done in the past to manage our health, energy and our weight, simply may not work any more. Not many health coaches and other professionals understand this, because there has been very little research on the menopause transition and lifestyle changes that we need to make to help us get ready for our futre years. When, through my women’s health research, I looked at many of the symptoms that women experience during menopause, I realised that this is the time of our lives that our health can begin to change and our menopause symptoms may become worse. This happened to me too.

Desperate to turn around my own health, weight and symptoms, I set out to untangle the menopause-mayhem jiqsaw, so we didn’t need to rely on traditional hormone therapies that have been used in the past. Everything I discovered is now in two fabulous programmes called My Menopause Transformation.

These world-class 12-week Menopause Transformation programmes  are all online and have all the information you need to renew your energy and vitality in your mid-life years.  What you will discover is that your hormones all work in synergy so there are a number of ‘connecting-the-dots’ lifestyle strategies that you can put in place to turn around your symptoms and for many of you, begin to lose your menopause weight. If you let your lack of sleep, temperature dys-regulation, anxiety, low energy and weight gain or weight loss, become worse, then this can set you up for problems as you age, especially heart disease or for thinner women, osteoporosis.

“I love helping women feel vital and energetic and healthy again and I explain how I do this, in the video below.”

I am passionate about you realizing your mid-life potential.  For many of you, these years are critical to re-focusing yourself on your health, exercise and on-going energy as you transition through menopause.

It’s a great time to put yourself first and I promise to show you the way.

Wendy.
