For the past decade I’ve told women that ‘menopause isn’t just about hot flushes’. From burning tongue syndrome to bladder irritability, skin changes, gastro-oesophageal reflux, increased anxiety, sore joints and insomnia… many of these symptoms seem to arrive in midlife or post-menopause and we don’t think of them as being part of our menopause changes.
I know that for many of you, the journey to better health may feel impossible right now. Between all the confusing messages, and everything we are juggling, I know how easy it is for our own health to quietly slip to the bottom of the list during midlife.
This was me too. With a sudden onset of emotional changes, joint pain and heart palpitations, (and for me, weight gain), I knew I had to use my years of knowledge in physiology and women’s healthy ageing, to turn my own health around.
