My Personal Pledge to You

Most women joining me on the MyMTℱ programmes are just like I was – spending huge amounts of money on supplements, hormone creams, weight loss diets, doctor’s visits, blood tests, Personal Trainers, HRT, health specialists and whatever else we can think of, to try and alleviate how we are feeling.

All this because menopause symptoms are distracting us from our day-to-day lives. We just keep trying to grab what remedies we can. Some work for a while, some don’t. I was driven to despair.

Waking night after night, endless hot flushes, aching muscles, mood swings and unstoppable belly fat, not only left me feeling exhausted, but left me concerned about my future health.

One day, after purchasing yet another supplement from a young saleswoman, who had no idea what I was going through, and knowing that my blood pressure and cholesterol were climbing, despite being on HRT, I had had enough!

It was my ‘lightbulb’ moment. I realised that nobody was taking a ‘whole-body’ approach to menopause symptoms. Furthermore, with menopause management framed within the medical and pharmaceutical paradigms, I also realised that I hadn’t heard anyone talking about lifestyle science solutions.

That’s when I knew I had to use my physiology and healthy ageing knowledge and experience, not only as a former nurse, but also as a leading exercise specialist in New Zealand and University Lecturer, to figure out how to turn around menopause symptoms and my health, so I could ‘age-well’.

That’s how MyMTℱ began nearly a decade ago. I designed it for me, but it’s now available for women and health professionals around the world. My Masterclass on Menopause events attracted hundreds of women who wanted what I wanted myself
. and that is to feel like ourselves again. 

I now realise how lonely and confusing menopause can be. When you come on board, no matter whether you are going through menopause, or a health professional wanting to learn about menopause, I am here to support you every step of the way in the private Coaching Communities.

Hi, my name is Wendy Sweet

I welcome you to My Menopause Transformation

I never thought I would be setting up online menopause courses for women and health professionals, but with my own struggles and then listening to women all over New Zealand tell me similar stories as part of my Doctoral Studies, I knew something had to be done. 

For over 40 years I have been involved in New Zealand’s health and exercise industry. Although my original career was as an ICU Nurse (I’m not practicing any more), I re-trained and helped to pioneer the Personal Training industry in New Zealand.

Then I went on to become a Lecturer in the Health, Sports and Human Performance Department at the University of Waikato. It was during this time that I became so curious about how women perceived their ageing and the role of exercise during their menopause transition that I decided to undertake my PhD in this area. I am so pleased that I did!

Because what I discovered was that now that we are in a different hormonal environment,  what we have done in the past to manage our health, energy and weight, simply may not work anymore. Not many health coaches and other professionals understand this, because there has been very little research on the menopause transition and lifestyle changes that can help women adapt to their new hormonal environment.

Desperate to turn around my own health, weight and symptoms in a natural way, I set out to untangle the menopause-mayhem jigsaw. After decades of research, everything I discovered is now in fabulous programmes for women and CPD courses for Health Professionals.
