The feelings of exhaustion when you are doing shift work are almost overwhelming. But you push on and keep going because this is what you have to do. But not sleeping is the turning-point for our health and all Lydia wanted was to feel healthy and energetic again. As a busy nurse doing shift work, this was not only essential to the job she enjoyed, but she knew that how she was feeling with such low energy during menopause, wasnât allowing her to do the things she wanted to achieve in mid-life.
âTired, pains and aches all over my body, stiff neck and nearly frozen shoulder, overweight, big and sore breasts, depressed, emotional, sleepless nights. That was me a year ago.â
Women like Lydia deserve to feel better in mid-life. With so many women busy juggling all sorts of personal and work commitments, understanding how to manage ourselves during menopause is crucial. Itâs all I could think of in designing the MyMTâą programmes – I just didnât want women to feel as unhealthy as I felt when I went through menopause myself.
That’s why, when I first read Lydiaâs email that she sent me, it was like dĂ©jĂ vu. I had all those symptoms too. But when we make small but powerful changes to our lifestyle to allow our body to adapt to a new hormonal environment during our menopause transition, then we don’t need to use medications and supplements to help us get through menopause.Â
Meeting Lydia at the Brisbane seminar when I was on the road with my Masterclass on Menopause was incredible.Â

Getting underway with the âTransform Meâ programme and then moving on to the 12 week Rebuild My Fitness programme next, I looked forward to her updates. âBy the way, have lost nearly 6kg. Feeling so goodâ was her email after only a few months.
Photos of her bike-rides and beautiful seaside walks on the Gold Coast in Australia appeared in the coaching pages and they were so inspirational to all of us. It’s what I love about the support in the MyMT coaching community.
It wasnât all plain-sailing as she mentioned when I met her in Brisbane at my live event, âThe journey had ups and downs but with determination and perseverance I reached my goals.â Having just returned from a visit to Europe, Lydia looked a picture of health when I met her at the Brisbane seminar.
âIâm 12kg lighter, fitter and happier. Looking forward for my next stage of life. I have a new job, new goals and I now feel as if Iâm in charge of my life and it is so completely different from where I was a year ago. I canât thank you for the programme enough.â
