“Hi Wendy .. with renewed confidence I went clothes shopping today for the beautiful slim woman I see in the mirror everyday. Participating in your programme has been life changing for me. A huge thank you to you for taking the challenge to study healthy ageing and share your discoveries on menopause. I would not be where I am today without you or my friend Sue, who told me all about your programme. Slimmer, healthier, focused and happy. With that, add confidence, gratitude and love of self.
Before I began this programme I was exhausted and overweight. You made my decision to look after myself so much easier with the research you have completed and put into this programme. There is much I want to fit in to the rest of my life still and now I feel I have the energy to do more. I can see the difference for me .. no overflowing boobs, no underarm rolls and most of all no belly fat. My face has changed as the weight (around 8kgs) has come away. Thank you Wendy – your programme is life changing.” [Bev, Christchurch, New Zealand]
Can you believe that Bev is 61 years young?! When she so kindly sent through this photo for me to share with you, I couldn’t believe it either.
Have you been struggling with your energy, sleep, health and perhaps your weight during your menopause transition? Or like Bev, are you ‘out the other side’ into post-menopause and just need a health re-vamp? These are all common themes that women in mid-life share and it’s so important to turn around our health, energy and vitality as we transition through menopause. It really does help you enjoy life again when you do and seeing this photo from Bev, as she told me that she now has the energy levels to do a 13km walking challenge, is fabulous reinforcement that it’s never too late!
My message to you is that it’s never to late to concentrate on you – whatever your age! For so many years, women in their 50’s have been looking after others and putting themselves last. Then we get to menopause and it can all turn belly-up – literally! Don’t worry, this happened to me too.
But as I discovered, there is a myriad of information out there about nutrition, exercise, hormonal health, sleep management and more. However, very few of these interventions target our menopause transition – the time of our lives when our reproductive hormones are changing and we are entering into the next phase of our lives.
When we don’t sleep, this creates chaos with our thyroid and adrenal health making recovery from exercise more difficult and draining our energy. That’s why I loved it when Bev came into the programme. With her job requiring lots of emotional energy to be given out, it was really important that she got her own energy back as well. Energy is the foundation of our health, especially as we age, and as I often say in my seminars, ageing for women starts in the muscles. You can discover why, here.
The foundation programme is called Circuit-Breaker and this teaches women how to decrease symptoms of menopause and prevent worsening health as they transition through menopause and head into their post-menopause years. The second programme is called Transform Me I’ve specifically developed this fabulous programme for women who are struggling with increasing mid-life weight gain during their menopause years. Neither programmes have lots of exhausting exercise in them, because as I’ve discovered through my research, this can create more muscle and joint inflammation and problems for our health as we age.
I’m so pleased that Bev came on board so I could share her menopause transformation journey with her. Doesn’t she look healthy and radiant?
