Royal Couple with Baby
Hi Everyone – how exciting – a new royal baby this week, and the start of a new life for the beautiful Royal couple, The Sussexes. It’s such an exciting and nervous time when there is a new baby. And how little we knew when many of us had our own children. Research wasn’t available about hormonal health and how our changing hormones, lack of sleep, nutritional choices and our busy lives affect our daily energy, motivation and moods! And look at us now, we are at the other end of the hormonal spectrum – menopause. And still our hormones are controlling our lives!

I don’t know about you, but I was so confused about this stage of life. Way more confused than I was having a baby or two!  Not only because there are now so many opinions and controversies about how to look after ourselves, but also because menopause hasn’t been spoken about much. It’s been hidden in medicine.  But menopause is a natural life-event. It’s the book-end to puberty and as I began to understand this, I knew there had to be a way to cut through the confusion about a stage of life that we all go through, but know so little about.

Menopause is the life-transition that we go through as our ovaries go into natural decline. Even if you have had your ovaries removed, your pituitary gland in your brain is programmed to go into your natural biological ‘ageing’ when you reach your early 50’s. With this natural biological ‘ageing’ there are numerous changes to your muscles, heart, nervous system, mood hormones, liver and gut as these structures are losing the role of oestrogen too. That’s why we have to change how we look after ourselves at this life-stage, and allow our body to adapt to hormonal changes in menopause.  When we do, then our symptoms go away. If we don’t, then it’s a slippery slope towards other health concerns as we get older … as our mother’s generation has already discovered too.

When you are ready, have a wee listen to my short video below and then have a look around the website. It’s called ‘My Menopause Transformation’ because that’s how I felt when I figured out how to look after myself in menopause and turn around my sleep, hot flushes, mood swings and sore joints and I lost 15kg of menopause fat as well.

Dr Wendy Sweet, PhD/ Women’s Healthy Ageing Researcher & MyMT Founder & Coach.

“If you have ever wondered if there was a clear easy plan to follow to sleep all night, reduce hot flushes and prevent or reduce your weight gain during menopause, then ‘welcome’ – you’re in the right place now.”
