As a Regional Manager for one of New Zealand’s sporting government bodies, Julie lives and breathes sports – her job is a busy and essential one helping manage sport participation in her local community.
“Your programme was recommended by a friend” mentioned Julie, “and I knew I needed to do something. I was having a bit of a downer on life and finding it hard to motivate myself with all the different menopause symptoms I had been experiencing. I had no energy for my job but was just battling on, not really understanding what was going on.”
When I was taking my live-events before the pandemic, I was always reminding women attending that we are the first generation of women to go into menopause in the context of the phenomenal growth of the sporting and fitness industries over our lifetime. As well, for those of us who have part of the development of these industries (myself and Julie included), we get to our mid-life years and realise that most of the education and information has been based around men and athletes. For Julie, this realisation was the same.
One of the main pieces of advice I give to women who are regular exercisers, as Julie was, is that we need to sleep all night before doing too much high-intensity exercise. If we are exercising vigorously and not sleeping, we aren’t healing overnight, nor are we losing weight.
“I have a rare auto-immune health concern” mentioned Julie, “so, the anti-inflammatory food and nutrient information you recommended specific to ageing research was wonderful. I still follow this informmation today. I also find that the supplements you recommended to do with our ageing were better than the menopause supplements I was taking.
By the end of the 12 week Transform Me progamme, I lost 8 kg [18 lbs], and didn’t really find it that hard. The programme knowledge and information was incredibly helpful and motivating, as were the recipes and regular updates in your coaching community. I definitely found it so beneficial and it has made me change many aspects of the lifestyle and ‘bad habits’ I had. Understanding ‘why’ I needed to change something based on all the research you’ve done, was crucial in helping me put it all into place.
After about 8 years of menopause symptoms, I am so happy with where I am. I have kept up with a bit of an 80/20 mentality in an effort to maintain 80% of the programme as lifestyle as I move into my future. I am looking forward to this. Thank you Wendy for sharing your amazing knowledge in such a helpful way.”

If you are feeling a bit confused about how to manage your menopause (or post-menopause) symptoms and weight gain without resorting to lots of crazy exercise or dieting (both of which can make your symptoms worse if you aren’t sleeping), then please try and join me in either of the MyMT™ programmes. Julie did the weight loss Transform Me programme, which I describe in the video below.
You can also read about the online course here. No matter where you are in the world, you can access it via computer, ipad, or mobile phone.
