“The trip was one of the hardest- things I have ever done in my life, (including running marathons), but it was one of the best experiences of my life. I have been on MyMT™ since May 2020 and it has been an enormous help and still continues to be.
I recently completed a 7 day expedition Kayak trip around Hinchinbrook Island in far north Queensland with 9 other women, all but 1 were in the late 40’s – 60’s. We paddled over 100kms in 6 days, lifted 100kg kayaks up and down the beach every day, set up camp, swam, hiked etc.
The last 3 years have also been the most challenging with a tough job helping women and families escaping violence find safe housing and getting them back on track. I never realised how vicarious trauma can impact the people providing the support, like me. Also caring for my parents who are in their 80’s. Add menopause into the mix and don’t know how I would have survived without MyMT™.
I finally changed jobs in June just prior to going on this adventure which has been a huge help in reducing stress but on the trip I also took the foods that you advocate for looking after joint health. They thought I was a bit crazy and some asked what and why, so I told them about your programme.
As joint pain has been one of the biggest symptoms for me I can’t speak highly enough of all the nutrients you mention as well as the correct exercise, including weights. I left with a very sore left shoulder (which we thought was a frozen shoulder), sore/stiff right knee and very tight Achillies, and I was worried how I would go.
I returned home with none of these problems except for my shoulder was still a bit tight when moving in a certain direction … nothing like it was. We paddled 3-5 hours most days and some it of it was on the open ocean with 1.5 metre swells.
I also retuned home like a new person mentally and spiritually – it was like whatever was “broken” in me was now fixed. I can’t thank you enough for what you have taught me.”
