As I watched a middle–aged nurse limping down the hospital corridor with swollen, puffy ankles, I wondered if she knew about the impact of her changing menopause hormones on her lymphatic system, fluid balance and circulation.
It took me a long time to understand this connection for myself too.
Hi, I’m Dr Wendy Sweet (PhD), a Women’s Healthy Ageing Educator from New Zealand and the Founder of My Menopause Transformation. Over the past 10 years, it has been my privilege to support over 20,000 women and 2,000 health professionals understand how to turn around their symptoms with evidenced lifestyle changes.
Most weeks I receive emails from women asking why they are holding on to more fluid in their ankles or breasts, and why they are putting on weight despite ‘eating healthy’. There are so many confusing messages out there, so, I have put this PDF together, to help women understand:
How changes in oestrogen and progesterone affect your lymphatic system and fluid balance.
How ageing blood vessels and lymph vessels can contribute to oedema (tissue swelling) in the hands, ankles, feet and abdomen.
I look forward to sharing this important information with you in the PDF.
