One of the most challenging concerns for women in their menopause transition, is their sore knees. I so remember the aching that I used to feel, especially after a day’s hiking or skiing. It was the reason I also gave up my beloved high impact aerobic classes too, as well as my BodyPump classes. My knees just couldn’t handle all the repetitive actions.
What I didn’t realise at the time, was that our knees (and other joints) are changing as we move through menopause. Declining levels of oestrogen cause changes to the integrity and function of our joints, including tendons and ligaments.
But there are solutions to this, based on lifestyle evidence and it’s why, in the MyMT™ 12 week coaching programmes, I have a module called ‘Restore your Joyful Joints’. These exercises and advice by American/Kiwi Physical Therapist and Founder of Peak Performance, John Appel, are in there and as part of a celebration of ‘Menopause isn’t just about hot flushes‘ month with MyMT™, I wanted to share his video with you too.
PLEASE NOTE: These simple rehabilitation exercises are not to replace a visit to your own Doctor or Physiotherapist. Stop all exercise if you feel pain.
Menopause doesn’t happen in a vacuum – and it’s not ‘just’ about hot flushes as you probably have guessed. Women experience numerous symptoms that confuse them at a time of their life, when they need to operate at their best.
As we are now over halfway through the year, I wonder how you are getting on? Do you have energy, vitality and you are under control with all that you’ve got going on in your life?
With the year moving on and the seasons now changing, I’ve put the MyMT™ Circuit Breaker programme ON SALE for you throughout the month of September. This programme is for you if you aren’t overweight but your symptoms are distracting you from day to day.
I invite you to come on board this month and get your Menopause Symptoms under control. Apply the promo code CB2022 HERE to join me. You can sign up anytime from now until the end of September, 2022.
