“You encouraged me to deal with the changes in menopause, rather than be a victim.” (Jane, Wales, UK)

After hearing your advice to sleep through the night, you gave me the confidence to think good sleep was normal during menopause.  I also relaxed about sleep and if I had a bad night I usually caught up the next night.

Your programme definitely helped with the acceptance of the fact of menopause. ‘What you resist persists – what you accept changes‘ – that our bodies are changing and it is a normal part of the ageing process – although accepting that you are ageing is hard at first.

I also think it is important to find purpose in life. I was a full time mum and the fact that the kids left home at the same time as menopause was especially hard. I have now found things to do that give me this purpose. I heard on  Radio 4 the other day that being kind gives you an oxytocin ‘hit’
. I thought that was interesting.

I did not manage to follow the programme through to the end, but the bit I did do really helped so much. I sleep through the night now, after following your advice I just told myself not to get up
go back to sleep !  You encouraged me to deal with the changes in menopause rather than be a victim, so I thank you so very much for that.
